Today, Mr Nicolas GRANGERAT – Deputy Managing Director of the Joseph Martin company, agreed to answer a few questions to present his company and look back on the long-standing partnership with the PRECIREX TECHNOLOGIES group.
How are you working with the PRECIREX TECHNOLOGIES group?
Our partnership goes back a number of years – more than 20! We’ve been working with SARG on automotive projects for a number of years, and we’re still doing some great work today. There’s no ‘novelty’ as such; these are long-term projects that bear witness to our consistency, both in terms of mastered and technical quality, which we maintain at a high level, and also in terms of pricing, which remains highly competitive.
Throughout these years, quality has been, and remains, the order of the day! For us, this is a reassuring guarantee of satisfaction.
Who do you interact with?
We’re in contact with the sales/quotations team to get technical answers to certain customer projects, so that we can offer a package that’s best suited to our customer.
The support provided to our departments by the PRECIREX TECHNOLOGIES group teams is a real asset, and the SARG experts are always ready to give good advice. This upstream phase facilitates the industrialisation phase on both sides, to meet our customers’ requirements, whether for medium or large production runs.
Do you have a project to share with us?
Yes, of course, we can talk about the centreless grinding project for mass-produced anodised aluminium parts made by SARG. This is an historic project involving a family of 5 or 6 parts for the automotive transmission sector. We started from an existing process to duplicate and adapt it. Numerous technical discussions were held with our respective teams, which enabled SARG to fully understand the project, understand our questions, transcribe and analyse them in order to find solutions that met our expectations. The human scale of SARG is, in my opinion, an undeniable asset for the following reasons: strong experience in the field, agility, short decision-making circuit, wide scope of action, rapid response for customers.
Grinding requires meticulousness, because the parts are small and fragile. The aim is to ensure that the parts are not damaged and are delivered to the customer 100% compliant.
- limiting the carbon footprint of our products,
- proximity of the subcontractor, which means that if necessary we can get together to exchange ideas
- flexibility and responsiveness to reduce dependence on the supply chain for product delivery.
